Eating Disorder
We have this old dog. He's part Siberian Husky and part Great Pyrenees. He lives to run. And he's skinny and lean and strong, even though he's pretty old. He has taught us a lot about how to control weight and stay in good shape. People love to eat. Normally, you eat five times a day at breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks in between. Really, that's a lot of food. However, some people eat more than five times especially when they have friends with them. Eating healthy snacks is much better than being deprived of snacking for everyone. Believe it or not, it is also a good idea to allow children and teens to eat "not so healthy" snacks from time to time. Bulimia is an eating disorder in which people eat more than necessary and then purge it out and if this process of eating and purging continues, it can have serious repercussions on one's health.
Both the mental and the physical health can get affected leading to high anxiety, depression, gastric ulcer and dehydration. This type of anorexia is achieving weight loss through restricting calories. Restricting anorexics follow drastic diets, counts calories while eating or when they are planning to eat, they exercise excessively. I have first hand experience with this not-so-rare phenomenon. It is difficult enough to want to look good to others and feel good about yourself and feel appealing enough to attract a partner, but throw in the scrutiny of the camera and the five to ten pounds it adds to your frame and it is a sure path to disaster if you have an eating disorder. Anorexia Nervosa is a sickness that involves a person feeling and seeing him or herself fat although he or she doesn't look that way.
This problem often occurs to women at the age of 15 - 22 and to men approximately 26 - 32. This sickness must not be taken lightly, when a person suffers this problem, they develop an eating disorder that may cause major problems in the future. The key to treating your emotional eating is to determine what your emotional triggers are. Sit down in a quiet room with paper and pen and list out the reasons why you eat. You may be very surprised at the length of your list. Next, create a corresponding list that will help you replace eating with other activities that can make you feel good The vomiting behavior of bulimia can lead to the erosion of your dental enamel. It can also affect your esophagus, throat and vocal cords.Dental enamel is the hardest tissue produced by the body, but once damaged, it does not regenerate.As such, it is important to prevent damage to your tooth enamel through misuse and neglect of your teeth.
The idea that one is unhappy with their appearance can make them depressed and sad, which ultimately leads them to any form of an eating disorder. There are different forms of eating disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia, Binge Eating, and Overeating. Each of these disorders may take on different functions but can have the same beginning end result. When thinking of the Effects of Bulimia, we usually only think of the person indulging in an eating disorder behavior. However, it's not only the person with the eating disorder that suffers, but the surrounding friends and family also.Bulimia affects the health of the person indulging in an eating disorder behavior.
